Transformed town centre on the way
Doncaster Council is looking at proposals to radically transform nearly 25 per cent of the town centre and bosses say the scheme will be considered by its cabinet, the economy and enterprise scrutiny panel and the full council in the "next few weeks."
The council expects to be in a position to enter a contract with developers soon after the full council meeting on September 24.

"The Civic and Cultural Quarter will change the face of Doncaster, bringing a wealth of new job opportunities and facilities to the borough. It is hard to imagine the scale of the transformation and the raft of benefits this will bring for the people of Doncaster."
The development would be built in four stages over six to eight years and cover 25 acres, including Waterdale and the area around the Council House and the old Doncaster College.
The first phase will bring a new performance venue, public spaces and a civic square, a renovated multi-storey car park and a new four-star hotel plus new civic facilities.
