Cyclist, 18, 'seriously injured' and rushed to hospital after BMW crash in Sheffield

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Upper Hanover Street, Sheffield last night (June 1), which left an 18-year-old cyclist in hospital with serious injuries.

At 10.30pm it was reported that the driver of a silver BMW was involved in a collision with a cyclist close to the junction with Broomspring Lane.

Emergency services attended the scene and the cyclist, an 18-year-old man, was taken to the Northern General Hospital with serious injuries.

Hanover Way towards Brook Hill in Sheffield was closed while officers responded to the incident last night. The road is now clear.

Police are hoping to talk to the driver of the BMW. Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the BMW prior to the incident is urged to contact police.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage. Please call 101 quoting incident number 1038 of 1 June.
