Manchester Airport: Sheffield air travellers facing problems as snow closes runways
Passengers from Sheffield were being warned of disruption today – with flights hit by the closure of runways at one of the city’s local airports.

Manchester Airport, one of the closest airports to the city now that Doncaster Sheffield Airport has shut, temporarily closed both its runways due to heavy snowfall this morning.
A statement on Twitter said: "Following a period of heavy snowfall, we have temporarily closed both runways.
"Health and safety will always be our top priority and operations will resume at the earliest opportunity.
