Travel insurance payout is delayed in medical wrangle
Barbara, aged 65, developed a chest infection and collapsed with breathing difficulties two weeks after her mother died. She was signed off as unfit to travel by her doctor.
But Asda Insurance has left her distraught by demanding to see her medical history, AND her mum's, before making a payout.

She was due to go on a family holiday to Kos in Greece but cancelled the trip after falling ill. Now she is attempting to claim the 937 cost of the holiday on medical and bereavement grounds.
She said: "They won't accept her death certificate, they want her full medical records.
"I can't see what that has to do with my claim. She's dead and buried - let her rest in peace.

An Asda spokesman said they were looking into Barbara's claim, but there were delays because the policy was underwritten by another firm which holds all the details.
Crucial to the claim was the period over which the doctor had signed Barbara off, she added.
