Officers carried out two separate raids on Maun Way, Firth Park and Manor Park Road, Manor this morning. Both men are still in police custody.

Police investigating the shooting also believe that a firearm was discharged on Southey Green Road prior to the incident, but no one was injured.

Detectives have already recovered two vehicles believed to be involved in the incident, a black Seat Leon (registration number FD06 FJJ) and a grey VW Golf (registration number YN65 WCE), one of which was stolen from a property in Barnsley.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are still keen to hear from anyone who saw either of the vehicles around the time of the incident.
