UPDATE: Forensics experts examine items left at Sheffield shooting crime scene

Items found by police at the scene of a shooting in Sheffield are being examined by forensics experts.

Police officers were called to Burncross Road, Chapeltown, at 11pm on Friday after receiving report of shots being fired.

Nobody came forward to report any injuries but officers found evidence that a gun had been fired.

Items recovered from the scene have been sent off for forensic examination.

Five men and one woman arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder have been bailed.

They were arrested in Upper Wortley Road, Thorpe Hesley.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At this time, nobody is believed to have been injured during the incident.

"Officers have recovered evidence from the local area that appears to be consistent with shots being fired and detailed examination of this evidence is ongoing."
