Venue needed to raise funds

A FUNDAY organised to raise money for South Yorkshire flood victims may have to pulled unless a new venue can be found.

Rachael Pickin was devastated to learn she couldn’t get an events licence from Sheffield Council for the original venue at Hillsborough Sports Arena - because it has already had its quota for the 12 months to the end of August.

Rachael, from Chapeltown, has already organised a host of attractions including live music, a charity auction and raffle, a bouncy castle and slide for the event planned to take place on August 19.

But unless another venue can donate its services for free she will be forced to cancel - and lose out on an opportunity to raise thousands for the South Yorkshire Community Foundation’s flood relief appeal.

Rachael, who only has until this Friday to submit a new application for a licence in time, said: “I just don’t know what to do.

“I was getting everything in place and everyone was rallying around to help and then this happens. I am desperate to make this work but we really need a venue.”

Anyone who can help Rachael can e-mail her at [email protected] or call 07948 890 534.
