Video: An easy night at the office for Kell Brook in Sheffield?
Atif Shafiq thinks Brook is so superior to his mandatory IBF title challenger Kevin Bizier that it should be a relatively easy night’s work at Sheffield Arena for the Ecclesall welterweight.
“I think it is going to be an early stoppage for Kell,” said Shafiq, a spectator at a promotional warm-up for both boxers in the Winter Garden yesterday.

So is the mandatory match up effectively a waste of time?
“To be honest a lot of people are seeing it as that,” Shafiq added.
“Kell has not let that affect him, though - he has been training as he always does. I think he’s going to go in there and prove a point, but it is a bit of a waste of time, as the guy’s not on Kell’s level.”
Shafiq said his Ingle gym-mate had been training just as ferociously as ever: “He has been training for weeks, he has been in good shape for a very long time. I think he’s going to be devastating on Saturday. I have seen bits of Bizier, but nothing that should faze Kell or bother him at all.”

Hide AdShafiq expects a win on the undercard for Adam Etches, who faces Jefferson Luiz De Sousa in a 12-round WBA Inter-Continental middleweight title clash.
“He has been looking good in training. He was a bit stiff back in the day but he looks a lot looser and more confident and I think he will do a good job on his opponent.”
Another boxer working out on the Matchroom event was Luke Campell, who faces Gary Sykes in a Yorkshire derby.
“I think he will have too much for Sykes at this stage of Syke’s career, but he is always game and comes to fight, Gary, so I think that will be a good fight while it lasts,” said the Rotherham super lightweight.
