Village school gets a top-class report

A PRIMARY school in a South Yorkshire village has been rated outstanding by inspectors - placing it in the top two per cent of schools in the country.

Treeton CE Primary has had three years of steadily improving results, and inspectors gave the school top marks in all five categories judged.

Pupils reported they ‘learned all kinds of things’ and that ‘teachers didn’t make lessons boring’.

Inspectors found that the curriculum and quality of teaching combined to stimulate pupils’ learning, helping them to make remarkable progress.

They also praised staff for providing clubs and all sorts of other out-of-school opportunities.

Pupils were praised for their very positive attitudes and skills which contributed to their being well-prepared for their lives beyond primary school.

The school was described as being truly at the heart of the local community, working to support local projects such as the wildlife trail on the Treeton to Catcliffe Link Path.
