Water baby Issey shows her strength in the pool

SHE'S proving just as strong as her dad - when it comes to swimming, at least.

Sheffield water baby Issey Reeves, the daughter of the city’s former World’s Strongest Man Jamie Reeves, could swim before she could walk.

And she’s getting better and better.

Issey has just passed her 50 metres swimming certificate - at the age of just two.

The bathing belle attends the Otter Tots Swimming School at Esporta on Archer Road, Millhouses, where she has been enjoying the pool since she was a baby.

Her swimming teachers say she took to the sport like a duck to water from day one.

Swim tutor Victoria Kennedy said: “Issey has amazing strength and a strong mental attitude and really enjoys her swimming.

“This is certainly the first we have heard of anyone locally swimming so far at such a young age, and we're sure it must put Issey in a pretty elite band of two-year-old swimmers nationally, if not internationally.”

Proud dad Jamie said: “Me and my wife Colette are naturally very proud of Issey.

“We try to encourage her as much as we can but, like all parents, we're also keen not to push her in to anything she doesn't want to do.

“She has unbelievable natural talent at swimming.

“Wherever we go everybody always comments they have never seen anything like it.

“I'd like to think I had something to do with her success at swimming, but in reality she's a little individual and she's done it all by herself.”
