A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said it was called to West Street in Sheffield city centre yesterday, Friday, July 8, at 9.47pm, following reports of a collision involving a car and a bike.

The spokesperson said one patient had been taken to Northern General Hospital. They were unable to provide any information about the extent of the patient’s injuries, nor could they confirm whether the crash had involved a bicycle or a motorbike.

Trams were briefly unable to operate along West Street, between Cathedral and Shalesmoor, following the crash, as Stagecoach Supertram said ambulances were blocking the street.
