You win some and they Newsam

WITH the Carling Weekend just weeks away the local influence on the final bill just got stronger.

Reverend & The Makers, Little Man Tate and The Long Blondes all play - the latter two on the main stage on Saturday - and now the Topman Unsigned Stage at Leeds’ Temple Newsam site only has confirmed promising Sheffield acts The Wallbirds and The Gentlemen on Thursday and Sunday respectively while Baby Long Legs and Neil McSweeney are on there Saturday. Sunday also has Screaming Mimi and This Floating World.

Meanwhile, South Yorks rockers Rise To Addiction have been added to the menu at the Motonalet Festival, the Czech Republic’s largest bikers meet, and the Bloodstock Festival on August 18 near Lichfield. The band released their debut album A New Shade Of Black For The Soul earlier this year.
