Cool Zac helps Tigers pip rivals at the post

A PENALTY in the final minute from centre Zak Hill helped Sheffield Tigers secure a thrilling 28-27 victory from their North One clash at Liverpool St Helens.

Hill had been in fine form all afternoon, kicking two conversions and two other penalties before he slotted over the crucial 80th minute winner.

Although the home side could have snatched the win when they were awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time, the effort hit the upright and bounced out, leaving Tigers to climb to fifth spot in the table.

But Tigers continued to push, and closed the gap with winger Ernst Oosterhuizen touching down and Hill adding the extras.

Mousley added a second try and Worsfold converted to restore the gap, but replacement back row Tom Rice touched down twice and Hill converted once to take a narrow 25-24 lead.

Worsfold added a 75th minute penalty but Hill matched it to restore the one-point lead, and they held their breath as Worsfold missed out with his crucial injury-time effort.
