Rossington Main are hit by bunch of fives

MEXBOROUGH Athletic found their shooting boots after a goalless first half, scoring five without reply to beat Rossington Main 5-0 in the Doncaster Senior League Premier Division.

Ricky Parker got a brace for Athletic with Gareth Pashley, Brett Oxer and Andrew Wilson completing their nap hand.

Following four straight victories, newly promoted Maltby Sheppey had their colours lowered for the first time when they went down 2-1 at home to Hemsworth Alpha.

Aaron Boyd give Sheppey the lead in the second half with Alpha getting back on terms through a disputed penalty converted by Michael Humberstone, with Alan Billington poaching a late winner.

Lee Shaw boasted two penalties in his hat-trick in Upton and Harewood Social's 5-0 win at Askern Welfare. Kevin Lynch and Michael Daley were also on target.

Thorne Town won 4-2 at South Kirkby Colliery. Ross Ebbage bagged a brace for the winners with Gregg Daniels and Paul Hinchliffe doubling the tally. Danny Womack and Nicky Crooks shared the Colliery goals.

Eden Grove chalked up a 5-2 win over Doncaster Deaf College. Sam Agar, James Hoystead, Richard Powell, Chris Powell and Chris Hoff all found the net for Grove, with Sean Anderson and Lee Clarke replying for the visitors.

Honours were even 1-1 when Edlington Rangers and Pontefract Colliery clashed.

Colliery keeper Robert Green kept his side in the show with a string of superb saves before being beaten by Dave Stenson. Kieran Turner snatched a point for Pontefract.

Division One leaders Upton Brookside romped to a 6-1 home win over South Kirkby.

Paul Mills, Jamie McDonald and Darren Harbin, scored for Brookside with Harbin getting another goal on the resumption. Debutant Dean Woolsey also bagged a brace. Kinsley Boys were held to a goalless draw by Armthorpe MW.

South Elmsall United Services came out on top 3-1 when entertaining Birks Holt Sports. Mark McDermott, John Blunt (pen) and Martin Walsh were all on target.

Craig Webster and Hemsworth Alpha finished 1-1 with Adwick Park Rangers.

Wickersley registered their first win in six attempts, accounting for Ackworth United 3-0.
