Rovers have to believe

DONCASTER Rovers midfielder Mark Wilson says that he and his teammates will need to "dig deep" at the Liberty Stadium if they are to prevent the Swans from gliding to another League One win today.

"It is early doors but we know that Swansea are going to be one of the contenders to go up this season and in the circumstances we found ourselves in we all need to to dig deep as a team," said Wilson, who spent a spell on loan at the Welsh club during their days at the Vetch Field.

"Despite the fact that we have lost our last three games there is still a lot of belief in the dressing room. It is just a case of us all working hard on the things that are not quite 100 per cent at the moment.

"I have been in a similar position at Middlesbrough. We lost our first four games two seasons running and on both occasions we then went on a long unbeaten run and hopefully the same thing will happen to us.

"People are panicking far too early these days. We are being punished for our mistakes at the moment and we are also not getting the rub of the green. But that will even itself out over the season.

"The main thing is that we believe in ourselves as players and we believe in ourselves as a team and we are backing the gaffer and Richard (O'Kelly) all the way.

"I have said it before, and I will say it again, they are best two people in management that I have worked with. The gaffer knows the game inside out and he is doing the right things on the training field and the bottom line is that it is up to us the players.

"Managers always take it on the chin when things go wrong but it is up to us to go out there and give it 100 per cent as we always do."

"As I said earlier, Swansea are a good team and are going to be hard to beat. But we will be looking to go down there and pick up a result.

"We played very well in our first two games. Once we get back to winning ways the pressure will be off us and hopefully we'll start playing well again."
