Sharp was the hero from the penalty spot as United secured their long-awaited first league win of the season on Tuesday evening, bringing up his 100th league goal for his boyhood club in the process.
United are now three points adrift of second-bottom West Brom in the table, ahead of their next game against Tottenham Hotspur at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

"The gaffer has said: 'Go out and play, everyone has written you off now so just go out and pick up a win quickly'.
"We have finally done that and we just have to go out and have a little bit more belief about each other, and take that little bit more quality in the final third.
"We did that last season and we beat teams who we are coming up against next."

"To get the first win in the league is a huge relief and hopefully the boys can take a lot from that," Sharp added.
"I am delighted for them because they have worked so hard this season and it's not quite gone for us."
