Blades sue over Tevez

SHEFFIELD United are set to sue West Ham for compensation following their controversial relegation to the Championship.

Kevin McCabe, the club's plc chairman, has instructed lawyers to pursue a claim after holding talks with his legal advisors during the aftermath of the Carlos Tevez Affair.

United claim that the FA Premier League should have decucted the Londoners points for fielding Tevez despite evidence that his presence at Upton Park broke the rules governing third party ownership of players and that, as such, Alan Curbishley's side were given an unfair advantage in the battle to avoid the drop during the 2006-07 campaign.
