McBurnie and Co. went into the international break bottom of the table after losing each of their four games, despite some impressive performances.

And the striker, who has joined up with his country ahead of their play-off against Israel tomorrow, said: "If we'd have finished in 17th place last season and scraped survival then people would be saying different things than what they are now.

"But we've set that bar so high last season, it's up to us to get to those levels again. It's been a tough start, in the first game we went 2-0 down within five minutes and then kept it 0-0 for the rest of the game and arguably dominated the rest of the game.

"The second game we were down to 10 men after 11 minutes I think, and the third game... lost in the 87th minute. Then we played Arsenal and it was a tough game as well.

"On paper it's four defeats but there's a great set of boys in there with a great mentality and we know that we can bounce back. Maybe the international break has come at a good time for us, we can all get away and concentrate on something else than the Premier League.

"When we get back we'll be ready for the Fulham game, I think it's ideal for us."
