Charlton Athletic keen to strike contract deal

Charlton Athletic boss Ben Garner is keen to tie up a new deal for Jake Forster-Caskey. The midfielder has been an important player for the League One side since joining them back in 2017. His manager has said, as per the South London Press: “From a manager’s point of view I’d love to have him tied down on a longer contract and that will be conversations I have with Thomas [Sandgaard, Charlton’s owner] along with recruitment.”

Wednesday beat the Addicks 1-0 earlier this season courtesy of Tyreeq Bakinson’s late goal. They play them again on 25th February.

Cheltenham Town man switches clubs

Cheltenham Town youngster Adulai Sambu has joined Redditch on loan. The attacker has been recalled from his spell at Cirencester Town, where he scored nine goals in 10 games, and is now embarking on a fresh challenge in the league above. Ex-Owls forward Luke Varney, who is manager of the Robins, will be hoping to see the teenager score plenty more with his new club.

Accrington Stanley loan out defender

Accrington have sent Bailey Sloane to AFC Telford United on the eve of their clash against Wednesday. The defender has been given the green light to join the National League North side on a one-month deal to get some more experience under his belt.
