The Owls have already added seven new faces to life at Hillsborough since the end of last season and enter the final days ahead of the deadline linked with a number of further additions.

The window closes on Friday, with Championship clubs unable to complete anything other than free agent transfers before until January 1. Boss Garry Monk has made it clear the club are doing all they can to add to the squad in a competitive and inflated market.

Wednesday already have one loan signing on board in Chelsea’s Izzy Brown but appear keen on adding to that number with tangible progress yet to be made on long-standing targets Kenneth Zohore and Dion Sanderson.

Both have been reportedly become the source of interest from elsewhere in the Championship, with reports suggesting Derby have made moves for Danish forward Zohore, with Cardiff upping their interest in bringing defender Sanderson back to the Welsh capital after a loan stint there last season.

Zohore, a West Brom forward, has been twoards the top of Wednesday’s wish list for several weeks but has reportedly emerged as a Rams target after they missed out on his club mate Charlie Austin, the breakdown of which may see the Baggies keener to offload the Dane.

If Neil Harris’ attempts to sign Sanderson, a 20-year-old defender, prove successful, suggestions are that it could open up the chances of Wednesday bringing Adel Flint to the club.
