Sheffield Wednesday suffered a damaging defeat on Wednesday night as they lost 2-1 to bottom side Luton Town.

The Owls welcome a Reading side without a win in seven games to Hillsborough on Saturday, with Wednesday boss Garry Monk desperate to get back to winning ways.

The Royals secured an impressive 2-1 win at Fulham on New Year’s Day, yet that is their only win of 2020 so far.

It seems an ideal fixture for Wednesday then, to turn their form around and nail down a much-needed win.

Sadly, former Owls midfielder David Prutton is backing the misery to continue in South Yorkshire.

Speaking in his regular Sky Sports column, he is backing Reading to claim their second win of the year at Hillsborough on Saturday, predicting a 1-0 win for the away side.

Such a result would surely provoke fury from the home fans, that can already scarcely believe that a side that not so long ago were in third place have dropped so rapidly.

Prutton is also backing Bristol City to gain a point against Leeds United at Elland Road, predicting a 1-1 draw.

He also backs Preston North End to beat Millwall 2-1, West Bromwich Albion to beat Nottingham Forest 2-1, and Derby County to beat Huddersfield Town 3-1.
