Bruno Lage who was Carlos Carvalhal’s assistant manager at Hillsborough from 2015-17 before joining him at Swansea City, has taken on the job having left Portuguese giants Benfica.
He is tasked with taking the Midlands side to new heights after the success enjoyed by his countryman Nuno Espirito Santo, who in turn has been tipped to take on the vacant manager’s job at Crystal Palace.

Hide AdHis first words to Wolves fans were published on their club website and read: “First of all, I’m very happy. It’s a big opportunity. I’m very happy because I’ve returned to this country, and to be the manager of a big team.
“It’s a team and a club that wants to do history and a chance to compete in the Premier League. So, I’m happy, excited, with a big ambition to do great things for this club.”
Wolves have a strong Portuguese influence from the boardroom to the changing room.
Lage went on to say: “I’ll be trying to know everyone, to see what the club has to offer, and my first idea is to try to link everyone together.
