A whole host of big names left the club last summer for pastures new; to Serie A, to non-league and to Cyprus. Some have prospered, some have had really bad times of it. One has even made a shock return to S6.
Let’s take a look at how they’ve got on since leaving Wednesday..
5. Connor Wickham
It's fair to say Connor Wickham's third loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday didn't go quite as well as the first two, and the strapping forward remains at a difficult stage of his career since his temporary stay at Hillsborough ended in the summer. Injury has meant the 28-year-old, out of contract at the end of this season, has played only twice for Crystal Palace u23s this season. Photo: Alex Livesey
6. Jack Stobbs
Jack Stobbs' promising Wednesday career ran dry last summer. He signed for Northern Premier League Premier Division side Grantham Town and has suffered a hugely frustrating time, with the season decimated by the nature of the coronavirus crisis. Photo: JPIMedia
7. David Bates
A bizarre loan spell at Wednesday last season saw the Scotland international play only once in an EFL Cup match. Now on loan at Belgian top tier side Cercle Brugge, he has been one of their better players having overcome injury struggles and has started in all but one of their last 14 matches. 8. Sam Winnall
Another whose release at the end of his deal came at no surprise, Winnall signed for League One Oxford United where his time has been dogged by injury. He's scored once in 18 league appearances. Photo: Alex Burstow
