You had a doubt there, didn’t you? Just for a second..
There was a creeping doubt that maybe this was the day Wednesday’s run ended, that they simply didn’t turn up on a day their opposition did.
The first half was a bit of a mess, it was disjointed and MK Dons scored a couple of worldies. Wednesday were caught on the hop a touch.
And then came half-time. And then came the changes. And then came the steam train that is Sheffield Wednesday FC this season.
They turned it on, grabbed three points and went top of the league.

5. Reece James - 7
It was his ball over the top that set Windass on his way for the opener - a very pleasant way to re-start his season after over a month out. Repeated the trick with some challenging angled balls, though one or two shorter ones went wonky. Defensively things were less gleaming to begin with, but a little rustiness could perhaps be expected and he grew into it to produce a steady tackle or two. Good in the air - which isn't particularly a stand-out attribute of his. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
Little went his way out wide and though he was a little way short of menacing going forward, his passing stats reflect a relatively tidy performance. After little football of late, it may well be that his substitution on the hour was pre-planned. Solid - never seems to let Wednesday down despite limited opportunity. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
With his other midfield colleagues, he was solid if not barnstorming. Pushed the ball around nicely as ever and created one or two opportunities to set up attacks and affected the game when it was in front of him - there was more of that when he dropped a touch deeper. Belting wee header at the back post to score, too. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
Slipped at a vital moment to allow Dons in for a late first half chance but was otherwise generally very tidy. His long throw sparked the sprinkling of chaos that led to the penalty. Tidy if not spectacular and off on the hour as Wednesday switched things up. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
