It’s been a long time since the Owls overcame the Potters – 12 years to the week in fact – and Garry Monk’s team will be desperate to turn that record around and stay in touch with the division’s top spots.
But who was in the team as Wednesday ran out 4-2 winners at the Britannia back in October 2007? Let’s take a look at what they went on to achieve.
13. SUB - Richard Hinds
Replaced the injured Bullen at half-time. Left Wednesday in 2011 and went on to play for Lincoln, Yeovil and Bury. Achieved a law degree from the Open University in 2011. Now assistant player / manager for Llandudno Town in Wales. Photo: Mark Thompson
14. SUB - Akpo Sodje
Left Wednesday in 2010 and retired in 2014 having played for Charlton, Hibs, Tranmere and Preston. Was implicated in a money laundering scandal that saw his footballing brothers jailed earlier this year. Photo: Matthew Lewis
15. MANAGER - Brian Laws
Spent three years as Wednesday boss, leaving in 2009 before joining Burnley in January 2010, lasting just short of a year. Became Director of Football at Irish side Shamrock Rovers in 2012, before a short spell at Scunthorpe. Now does radio. Photo: Matthew Lewis
