The Owls lined up against Coventry at Middlewood Road with the likes of Matt Penney, Izzy Brown and Jack Marriott all in the starting XI, and things got off to a good start as Brown opened the scoring 12 minutes into the encounter.
But changes were made at the break by U23s manager, Lee Bullen, who brought on another first teamer in Elias Kachunga as Marriott and Brown were replaced, but things didn’t quite go to plan as they conceded three two goals in quick succession to fall behind 2-1.

The result leaves Bullen’s men bottom of the Professional Development League North after 17 games played, and they’ll be left to lick their wounds ahead of back to back home games against Swansea City and Sheffield United before the month is out.
While the likes of Brown, Penney and Marriott will have been pleased to get at least another 45 minutes under their belts ahead of the final 11 games of the season – and in Brown’s case, a goal – they’ll be disappointed with the game’s end result.
The Owls’ starting XI was Jackson, Trialist, Brennan, Rice, Galvin, Waldock, Hunt, Penney, Brown, Marriott, Hagan.
