The Wednesday captain had to be taken off towards the end of the Owls’ important 1-0 win over Coventry City over the weekend, with his manager, Tony Pulis, revealing that he was having a bit of a problem with his thigh.
SWFC have had a number of injury concerns over the course of the campaign so far, with Dominic Iorfa recently undergoing successful surgery on a ruptured Achilles that he sustained earlier in the month.

Hide AdFans will have been worried about Bannan, who supplied the assist for Tom Lees’ winner against Coventry, after he went down and was ultimately taken off by Pulis, but the Scotsman took to Instagram to confirm that he’ll be ready for Rovers.
Speaking after the game Pulis joked about it being a ‘Christmas thigh’ for the skipper (a reference to footballers getting a minor injury around this time of year), and he’ll be pleased that the 31-year-old will be on the bus to Ewood Park.
Bannan said on social media, “Anything for three points… I’m fine, and ain’t a Xmas thigh. Few days rest I’ll be back at it. Merry Xmas Owls, see you all Boxing Day.”
It remains to be seen whether the likes of Massimo Luongo or Julian Börner will be deemed fit enough to make the trip, though, while Iorfa, Aden Flint and Jack Marriott all continue their rehabilitation elsewhere – Flint and Marriott may not return at all.
