Sheffield Wednesday's Ryan Galvin won't be returning to the club - yet

But after an impressive stint on loan in the National League, it has now been confirmed that the 21-year-old has extended his stay there for an extra month.

Galvin has had a handful of first team appearances for Wednesday since making the move from Wigan Athletic’s academy a couple of years ago, but has also spent time out on loan as Darren Moore looks to get more senior football into him as a way of aiding his development.

The left back has done so well with The Stones that he picked up their Player of the Month award for October, and on the back of that it has been decided that he’ll stick around with Hakan Hayrettin in Kent.

Speaking to his loan club’s official website, the defender said, “I’ve really enjoyed being here, the changing room is good, and we’ve got a good group of lads.”

Meanwhile, on the opportunity to play further up the pitch on the left wing, he added, “I haven’t played there before at a good level, but I enjoyed it. Being able to get forward, with Jerome (Binnom-Williams) behind me, he talks a lot and helps me out.”

Maidstone have endured a difficult start to life in the fourth tier following their promotion last season and are currently second bottom, but Galvin will be eager to keep turning in good performances over the next few weeks to try and help them climb away from the relegation zone.
