What new bookies favourite, Ryan Lowe, said earlier this year about managing Sheffield Wednesday

Lowe, who spent one season at Hillsborough, became a fan favourite during his time, scoring eight goals in 26 appearances in the famous promotion campaign in 2011/12, playing a vital role under both Gary Megson and Dave Jones on the way to securing a return to the Championship.
Now, on the back of Garry Monk’s exit, the 42-year-old has made it to the top of the bookies’ list of favourites today, and it’s certainly a job that the Plymouth Argyle manager would be keen to do – whether that time is now, however, remains to be seen.

Hide AdSpeaking to The Star back in March, the Plymouth boss said, “I'm still learning my trade but at some point in the future, I'd love to manage Sheffield Wednesday… In years to come who knows where football takes you? Especially football management. One day, you never know.
“I feel like I've got unfinished business there because of the way I left. I never got a chance to say a proper goodbye to the fans because I was there one minute and then I was being told I had to move on.
“I'd like to think one day I could manage the football club.”
After being appointed at Argyle back in June 2019, Lowe guided them to a third-place finish and promotion back into League One in his first campaign at the club, and for many would be seen as a popular successor to Monk at his old stomping ground.
