The centre back on loan from Derby County is expected to play Euro 2008 qualifiers for Wales against Germany on Saturday in Cardiff and in Slovakia on Wednesday.
Davey said: "Lewin has played seven games already this season. It's easy to forget that he's just a lad of 19. We'll monitor the situation closely."

Hide AdThe teenager has been ever-present for Davey's team in six games so far as well as playing the full 90 minutes for Wales in their 1-0 friendly win in Bulgaria last month.
Davey will hope he returns from Slovakia fit for Barnsley's next Championship match against Scunthorpe United at Oakwell on September 15.
Club skipper Paul Reid will be back for that game after a three-match suspension.
He played for the reserves yesterday as striker Miguel Mostto hit his first competitive goal for Barnsley in a 4-2 Pontin's League Cup win over Bradford City at Oakwell.

Barnsley made it a comfortable win in stoppage time with Dwayne Mattis glancing home a ball from Meynell.

midfielder Grant McCann's hopes of adding to his international honours have been boosted by injury to two Northern Ireland team-mates.
McCann, who has 15 caps, could benefit from the withdrawal of Birmingham's Damien Johnson and Tony Capaldi of Cardiff from the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Latvia and Iceland.
