Fun for Jessica

World heptathlon fourth-placer Jessica Ennis joined thousands of fun-runners on the streets of London to raise funds for a charity close to her heart.

The 21-year-old multi-events star contested the Women's 5km Challenge in London's Hyde Park in aid of the charity, Breast-Cancer Breakthrough, completing the course in a respectable 28-minutes.

"This is a little far for me;" the Millhouses-born athlete revealed.

"But it's such a great event with so many good causes, I wanted to come and show my support."

The City of Sheffield AC combined-eventer is currently waiting to hear if her achievements have landed her the 2007 Waterford Crystal European Athletics Rising Star award. The winner will be announced at the European Athletics Calendar Conference in Malta on October 12.
