Superbike star Toseland tinkles the ivories to boost Stead appeal

Current World Superbike leader – and soon to be Moto GP star – James Toseland will tinkle the ivories in aid of stricken speedway rider Garry Stead.

Sheffield asset Stead faces life paralysed and confined to a wheelchair following a track crash at Somerset in May.

Stead was on loan to the Stoke Potters from parent club Sheffield and fell whilst leading. One of the following riders was unable to avoid him and local paramedics fought to save his life.

“I visited Garry in hospital soon afterwards” said Toseland.

“Despite being so seriously hurt I was amazed at his positive attitude, no bitterness at all and full of intent to get back into the sport in some capacity, I just have to help him achieve that

Kiveton's Toseland and friends will entertain after a special Garry Stead benefit race meeting in the Panorama Room at Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium on August 23.

The event starts at 7.15pm. Admission prices: Adults 12, OAP’s 9, children Aged 12 – 16, 5 Children Under 12 free.
