Tigers struggle as loan stars excel

TIGERS bosses will put on hold talks with their own club assets until October.

Owlerton fans are disappointed with the team’s performance this season.

It has left them facing a tough battle to reach the play-offs to decide the Premier League champions.

Away performances have been poor and some members of the squad have clearly underperformed in a season of frustration so far.

Elsewhere, Canadian star Kyle Legault has taken his career to a new level on loan to Mildenhall and comeback kid Lee Complin is doing well with Stoke.

Now co-promoters Neil Machin and David Hoggart are urging the current crop of riders to prove they are worth a place in the 2008 team.

Hoggart said: “Neil and I naturally aware of how well Legault and Complin are doing at the clubs they are on loan to.

“But I think supporters generally could see the problem we had when the points limit was set, we had to release two riders and both Kyle and Emiliano Sanchez were very unlucky.

“We worked hard to get both of them fixed up.

“It looked as though Kyle was going to Birmingham but that fell through and Neil Machin went out of his way to ensure Kyle wasn’t left on the sidelines.

“Difficult decisions have to be made in speedway, that’s what being in charge is all about, and we will stand together and see what happens between now and the end of the season.

“We are thrilled to see both Kyle and Lee going so well and we congratulate them. We will talk to them both, along with Richard Hall and others, at the end of the current season.”

Machin is already on record as saying the door is still open for an Owlerton return for those riders out on loan.

The Sheffield team need to up their game when King’s Lynn, the reigning treble champions, visit Owlerton on Thursday.
