All-night party stopped

A PUB landlord has spoken out after police concerns about anti-social behaviour at his premises after an application was made to hold an all-night party at the venue.

Mick Townsend, who runs The Sheaf, in Fraser Road, Woodseats, believes he has "unfairly been tarred with the same brush" as previous landlords.

He said: "We have been in charge four months and have never had a spot of bother. The police have been going on trouble which happened in the past. We were surprised and very upset when we heard of their objections."

Officers stopped plans to hold an all-night Halloween party, which would have lasted until 6am.

Police objected to Sheffield Council's licensing board, stating there were seven offences at the venue in the last 12 months.
