Apartments set for a 'yes'

TWELVE apartments could be built on green field land in Beighton in plans submitted to Sheffield Council.

The flats - 11 two-bed homes, and a single one-bed apartment - are planned for a site at the end of Portland Road.

A petition signed by 21 residents, along with 24 letters of objection - including one from Labour councillor Helen Mirfin-Boukouris - have been submitted.

But planning officers are recommending councillors approve the scheme, subject to certain conditions. Sheffield Council’s South and East planning board meets on Monday.
