It follows more than £100,000 raised from their first two BB With Love Simply The Best shows at Sheffield City Hall, plus golf days and other events, to honour 61-year-old breast cancer victim Bev Croke, know as ‘Beautiful Bev’, or BB.

Her West End and The Voice singing sensation son Matt Croke, dance star daughter Rachel, Bev’s other son Sean and husband, Mick, are behind the fundraising, with proceeds again going to Weston Park Cancer Charity.

Now they have announced a third show and a star-studded line for this year’s BB With Love’s Simply the Best 2023 at Sheffield City Hall on Sunday, October 1, 7pm – buy tickets now at www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk.

TV fashion guru Gok Wan will again host the variety show.

The bill also includes comedy legend Billy Pearce, former Dancing On Ice champion, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and West End star Hayley Tamaddon, TV presenter Dr Ranj Singh and West End stars Layton Williams, Kerry Ellis, Melissa Jacques and George Ure.

Bev committed herself to helping others being treated for cancer and was a member of Sheffield Cancer Choir, who will give a special performance, alongside RMC Academy of Theatre – for whom Rachel is performance principal.

Manor Operatic Society, the BB With Love Orchestra and Pro Dance Squad will also entertain.

Rachel will take the stage with Matt, a West End star in his own right for starring roles in Aladdin, Wicked and the upcoming I Should Be So Lucky. He sung an emotional tribute to his mum beneath a huge slideshow last year.

Their 2021 debut fundraising show raised £30,000 and last year’s concert brought in a staggering £62,000.

Now their quest is to raise another jaw-dropping amount of money in honour of Bev to help more cancer patients and their loved ones across the region.

Alongside raising funds to enhance treatment, provide support and enable research to ensure the best experience possible for the one in two people facing cancer in the region, Simply the Best is also a showcase of the range of care and assistance available to those living with cancer.

Weston Park Cancer Charity enables life-saving research and clinical trials, enhances treatment for patients and loved ones, provides emotional and practical support for people living with and beyond cancer in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Matthew and Rachel Croke, in a joint statement, said: “Our mum had a huge heart and was always the one in the family to go above and beyond to share her love and warmth.

“Mental health awareness was so significant to her during her life and cancer battle, and she always wished for other people to have the same support in Sheffield.

“Even if the money raised from Simply the Best only makes a modest difference for Weston Park Cancer Charity, it is one thousand percent worth it.”

Weston Park Cancer Charity chief executive Emma Clarke said: “We’re so grateful to the Croke family for all they’ve done for our charity.

“BB With Love has raised a tremendous amount for us, which has directly fed into our support for people living with and beyond cancer diagnoses.

“And in donating 100 per cent of the money raised from ticket sales, they truly are continuing Bev’s selfless nature and creating a lasting and beautiful legacy for a much-loved woman.”
