Pretend To Forget: Yorkshire pop star Charlotte Hannah releases lockdown single

With the studio closed due to the pandemic outbreak the singer-songwriter’s dance track was completed at home.

Pretend To Forget is not about the challenging times we are having to endure but was written about the confusing time after a break up, explained Charlotte, from Doncaster.

Though it has been an unforgettable time to record the track.

Charlotte, who started the recording process with producer Tom Baker at Sheffield's Steelworks Studios, revealed: " The song came to life early this year so we were fortunate enough to have already recorded the majority of the vocals in the studio before the UK went into lockdown in March.

"Thankfully, my producer, Tom, has still been working from home during lockdown so we were able to finish the production of the song.

"I have a home studio for recording and filming videos for my YouTube channel so I had the opportunity to record some additional backing vocals.

"Tom and Parisa Shahmir, one of the songwriters, did the same from their home studios. It has been amazing learning to adapt to new ways of working while the

music business has been stuck at home.

"I’m so proud of this song and can’t wait to share it with the world.”

She said of the single: "I shared my personal experience with my songwriting team and the result is a hard hitting catchy up-tempo song with real attitude.

"I think everyone will experience these feelings at some point in their life with what is nothing short of grief after splitting from a partner."
