Mike Pender, the original voice of The Searchers, will be performing hits which included Needles And Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away, Sweets For My Sweet and When You Walk In The Room.
Also on the bill are The Trems – former members of The Tremeloes – with their world-wide number one Silence Is Golden and other hits Even The Bad Times Are Good, Do You Love Me and Call Me Number One.
Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich, who started out as Dave Dee And The Bostons in 1961, were rarely out of the charts in the mid 60s with hits Bend It, Zabadak, The Legend Of Xanadu and many more.
The Fortunes, whose 1964 single Caroline was the signature tune for the influential Pirate Radio Station of the same name, will perform classics including Storm In A Teacup, You’ve Got Your Troubles and Freedom Come Freedom Go.
Vanity Fare, whose harmonies were renowned throughout the Sixties, are best known for hits I Live For The Sun, Early In The Morning and the worldwide classic, Hitchin A Ride, which scored the band a number one on the Billboard 100 in the USA.
Headline name Mike Pender formed The Searchers with John McNally originally as a Skiffle group in Liverpool in 1959. As they went into the 60’s they turned to mainstream pop.
They were rivalled only by The Beatles and Gerry and The Pacemakers. The band notched up six UK top ten hits with three of those reaching number one and spent 36 weeks in the top 10, of which seven of those weeks were at the number one spot.
The Trems, former members of The Tremeloes, started out as an English beat group founded in Dagenham Essex in 1958, originally called Brian Poole And The Tremeloes.
They toured the world from 1963 to 1974 and remain a massive draw in the UK and Europe. They have the fantastic reputation as one of the most entertaining bands on tour today.
Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich formed in 1961 and changed their name in 1964. Two years later the band were in the charts for 50 weeks out of 52. In Germany alone in 1967, record sales outsold The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
The Fortunes, who hail from Birmingham, first came into prominence in 1964 with their hit single Caroline.
Vanity Fare, often misspelled Vanity Fair, due to the similarity of the novel and magazine title, are a British pop/rock group formed in 1966
