Farm's animals benefit from CCTV installation

NEW CCTV will protect animals at Sheffield's Heeley City Farm as security is stepped up after the slaughter of 13 piglets.

Two Sheffield businessmen donated the vital CCTV equipment to the farm to help keep the animals safe in the wake of the sickening attack.

Anthony Hinchcliffe, managing director of Ant Marketing, and Tim Ralston, managing director of Vision CCTV, met the pigs they will be helping to protect when they visited the farm to drop off the surveillance equipment.

The two men decided to make the generous donation after 13 piglets of sow Nellie were slaughtered at the farm on Richards Road just days after being born.

Farm manager Jill Brookes said: “Everyone at the farm, staff and children alike, was devastated by what happened and we are delighted with this fantastic offer of help.

“The new installations, particularly the lighting, will be a tremendous comfort to us as more piglets are born.”
