Fayre's free - if you run all the way there

RUNNERS of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities are wanted to take part in an annual sponsored race at Whirlow Hall Farm.

The Bairstow Eves Senior Challenge Run and the Junior Fun Run will be on Sunday September 16, the day of Whirlow Hall Farm Fayre.

Runners get free entry to the fair, providing they sign-up in advance.

The Senior Challenge, over about five-and-a-half miles, starts at 11am and the entry fee is 5.

The Junior Fun Run, open to children aged 14 and under, is about two miles long and begins at 10.30am. Entry to the fun run is 3.50.

Runners who sign up on the day will be asked to pay a 5 entry fee and the 3.50 admission to the farm.

All money raised through sponsorship will go towards the Whirlow Hall Farm Trust to support their work with disadvantaged children.

Bridget Evans, chief executive of Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, said: "You will be that little bit fitter and healthier for having taken part and, if you book in advance, you get free entry to the Farm Fayre thrown in too.

"That means you can afford to buy lots of goodies in the farmers' market to replace all those calories you run off."
