Fun day out promised at Sheffield Animal Centre

Pet lovers are invited to attend the annual open day at Sheffield Animal Centre which organisers are promising will be a '˜great doggy day out'.

There will be all kinds of attractions and activities at the Attercliffe-based centre between 10.30am and 3pm on Sunday, July 3.

Visitors will be able to have their picture taken with their pets by a professional photographer and those who do will be automatically shortlisted for the 2017 RSPCA Sheffield Branch Calendar.

There will also be a opportunity to take part in a range of activities such as an egg and spoon race with a chance to win a host of top prizes. The ever-popular dog show will take place and what is described as a ‘catless cat show’, in which a panel of judges decide the winner from pictures of owner’s feline friends.

Demonstrations based on agility and heelwork to music will take place all day.

There will be a range of refreshments and a barbecue, including vegetarian options, plus cake stalls.

Youngsters can also enjoy face painting.
