Legal eagles take on challenge of great outdoors

LEGAL eagles from a Sheffield law firm swapped their suits for boots when they took part in the Three Peaks Challenge.

Staff from the Sheffield office of Nabarro Nathanson joined workers from the firm's London office in a 24-hour bid to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowden.

The team of nine managed the mountainous challenge in just over 24 hours and raised 3,000 for Neurocare in Sheffield. The charity funds equipment for people with head injuries, brain tumours, strokes and cancers of the nervous system.

Plucky new mum Caroline Salathiel took part despite giving birth just 12 weeks ago, alongside colleagues Carole Bailey, Louise Millington, Mark Cox and Peter Wright from Sheffield.

They were joined by Londoners Sharon Armstrong, Lily Bednikov, Brigitte Pett and Nick Wood.

FRIENDS from the NTL Telewest call centre in Sheffield are putting their best feet forward in an attempt to climb the three peaks and raise money for the NSPCC and Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.

The team of four will join 15 other teams from Virgin Media, which owns Telewest, when they set off today.

One of the group, Mark Billanie, said: "This is the first time we've done this type of challenge and we're not look-ing forward to the inevitable blisters. On the plus side we're really looking forward to seeing the sunrise across Cumbria when we reach the summit of Scafell Pike."
