Peak climbers are up for it

CLIMBING one of Britain's three tallest peaks is tough work for most, but for 15 employees at ntl:Telewest, all three are in a day's work.

The team, based in Attercliffe, are preparing to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

Three teams will each raise 1,000 for charities, including the NSPCC, Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Macmillan cancer support.

Lee Cox, aged 25, of School Road, Crookes, is supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. His cousin Cory Charlesworth, aged 10, from Laughton, near Dinnington, has the illness.

“It’s a terrible condition, in which the children affected don’t normally make it to adulthood, so every bit of support helps,” said Lee

The challenge starts with Ben Nevis on Thursday September 13 at 5pm, and will end 495 miles later on Snowdon at 5pm the next day. To support them contact Lee on 0114 2018436.
