Radio Hallam figures boost

MORE listeners than ever before are tuning into Sheffield's Hallam FM - making it the most listened to radio station in South Yorkshire and the North Midlands.

Figures released by the Radio Joint Audience Research body reveal the station attracts around 404,000 listeners a week with Big John’s breakfast show the most popular.

Daytime presenter Ollie Hayes, who is on air between 10am and 2pm, has added 27,000 listeners to his slot since the start of the year.

Station staff put their success down to an item on their website which encourages listeners to tell them what they want to hear.
