Grandfather-of-four Jim Goodwin, aged 75, smashed a cycling record and raised 1,300 for charity when he took part in a 12-hour road-race in aid of Macmillan nurses.
Jim, of John Street, Eckington, rides his bike most days and set himself a target of covering 200 miles in the allotted 12 hours. Instead he completed 227 miles - beating the previous best for his age group by six miles.
