They also filmed a prank in which a pupil is seen to be tied to a flagpole and added it to the website.

Deputy headteacher Ray Everitt said: “The clip in which a pupil is seen to be strapped to a chair and then a flagpole is actually three years old.

“I interviewed three people in relation to this, including the boy in the chair, and it turns out this was just a joke - a spoof.

“But the fight, although 14 months old, is genuine and fighting is something we take very seriously.”

Mr Everitt said the two boys seen fighting had been involved in an ‘ongoing series of disputes’and both were excluded for fighting.

But they do not know who uploaded the clip.

“I think these websites are deplorable.

“It gives a distorted perception of our school and others in the same situation,” said Mr Everitt.

“We will work with relevant authorities in getting these clips removed and in September we intend to develop a formal school policy in relation to sites such as YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and Bebo.

“The internet is good in many ways, but bad in that it is not regulated.

“Sites like this give a distorted view of institutions - in this case our school.”
