Seafront blaze wrecks complex

SKEGNESS has been hit by a massive fire which wrecked an entertainment complex on the seafront.

Fire crews were called to The Parade in the centre of one of South Yorkshire's favourite holiday resorts after the Lucky Strike arcade and Buster's Fun Pub caught fire.

Some 200 firefighters tackled the blaze which affected nightclubs, amusement arcades and restaurants. Fifteen fire engines and two hydraulic platforms were required to bring the fire under control – and firefighters used water from two nearby swimming pools.

No-one was injured but millions of pounds of damage has been caused to premises, including the Grand Hotel, which sits behind the arcade

Enquires are continuing into the cause.
