5. Frank & Joy exhibition
A new exhibition from artist Pete McKee, celebrating one couple’s love for each other and the connection to their local, is taking place at Trafalgar Warehouse.
The words: “Till the end of our days, I will love you forever” are taken from a poem written by Pete McKee to accompany his 2013 work The Snog. The couple featured in this, now iconic, landmark mural are Frank and Joy, and their story lies at the centre of the artist’s latest exhibition.
The exhibition will run from November 4-9, 11am-5pm, costing £7 for adults and £5 for children aged 12-18.
A welcoming and relaxed group for anyone interested in writing, led by poet and musician Ray Hearne, is taking place on November 7. Whether you've been writing your whole life or have never put pen to paper before, you can come down and enjoy a cuppa and some company of other creative folk.
Ray Hearne is a writer and performer of songs and poems rooted in South Yorkshire communities, their histories and experiences, and has organised and facilitated writers' workshops at every corner of South Yorkshire.
Writing in the Park is free to attend, at The Bradbury Makers' Shed, The Walled Garden, Hillsborough Park.
Anyone aged 16+ and babies in arms are welcome.
