The Government’s phased plan to ‘unlock’ the country sets out when certain businesses, attractions and services might return, giving hope that life might regain some semblance of normality in the near future.
Here are 10 of the best things Sheffield can look forward to.
5. A pint in the pub
This is The Fat Cat at Kelham Island in Sheffield, which is running a takeaway service during lockdown - although they might be among the last places to reopen properly, the day will come again when people can sip freshly-poured beer in one of the city's pubs. Photo: Simon Hulme
6. Welcoming back Sheffield's independent shops
Sheffield's streets have looked a little forlorn with the absence of so many familiar shops during lockdown. But the time will come when that will change - and there might even be some bargains to be found to tempt customers. Photo: Oli Scarff/AFP via Getty Images
7. Family celebrations
A consequence of efforts to tackle the pandemic has been the mass cancellation of weddings and other traditional celebrations. Once it is safe to do so, families can reunite to mark marriages and special birthdays once again at Sheffield's best venues. Photo: Getty Images
8. Live music
