Sheffield Wednesday’s newest addition, Miguel Angel Munoz, was spotted on the training ground this week after he came on board with boss, Xisco Munoz.

The new Owls gaffer’s younger brother has worked with him at Watford in the Premier League and Huesca in LaLiga, but has also been on board at the likes of Valencia and Gimnastic de Tarragona.

Munoz’s arrival hasn’t been officially confirmed by the club as of yet, and his name – nor the new manager’s – is listed on the staff page of the website, however he has updated his bio on social media to reflect his new role.

MAM has worked as an analyst and a coach in the past, and now it would appear that he’s going to be pulling on both of those skillsets at Wednesday, stating that he’s arrived as a tactical assistant coach at Middlewood Road.

He has been at the training ground this week as his brother gets to work at S6 ahead of the 2023/24 campaign in the Championship, and today fans will get to have their first glimpse about what may lie ahead under the new management as they make the trip to York City’s LNER Community Stadium for the first preseason friendly of the summer.

It remains to be seen what other technical team members will be brought in between now and the start of the campaign, though there has been talk of Miquel Gomila coming on board - a conditioning coach that Munoz worked with at Huesca.
